It’s always good to get away. Amber the kids and I took off last Sunday to spend a week in South Haven, MI, where we camped with her parents at Van Buren State Park.

We had beautiful weather and yes, we went tent camping. The beautiful weather did help with that! We got the camp site closest to the water and the nuclear power plant. Yes it was a scene straight out of the Simpson’s. Beautiful Lake Michigan, and down to the left, huge smoke stack with billowing clouds of white fumes. It didn’t affect our time, other than being shocked to see an armed guard approach the gates that were close to our campsite (AR15 for those who are interested.) Every meal but two were cooked over the open fire. That is the real deal!

As I had time to reflect and read, I was grateful to God for His beautiful creation, time with my family, His wonderful Word, the discipleship I have received from my Father in law and the flock who God has made me an Pastor/Elder over, who allows me such time away.
